Deliverance Through The Sacrificial Lamb »

Series: Communion Themes

The Passover feast was instituted by the Lord to mark the deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. The blood of the sacrificial lamb was applied to the entrance of each household so that the destroying angel would see the blood and pass-over those who remained inside the house. They were spared because of the blood. This pointed forward to the day when the Lord Jesus Christ would shed His blood upon the cross at Calvary for all those who take refuge in Him. Do you trust in Christ’s sacrifice to save you?

That They May Know That I Am the Lord »

Series: Exodus

Who is the Lord that you should follow Him? Will you continue to trust in yourself and your own ways? He commands us to turn from our pride and selfishness and come to Him for mercy and forgiveness. This is that truth that everyone of us must come to face. It is the issue of destruction vs. deliverance. We are under God’s wrath and curse and unless we are delivered by way of seeking His mercy, in the end, we will face judgment from this holy and perfect God who will not tolerate anything less than perfection. The way of mercy is by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is God’s deliverer. Hebrews 10:26-27 reminds us "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries." Moses witnessed the righteous judgment of God upon the wicked and the devastating end of a hardened heart against the Lord. Don’t refuse the one

The Covering of the Lamb’s Blood »

Series: Exodus

Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself upon the cross for our sins. He is our hope. His sacrifice provides a covering for us. Does this sound strange to you? Not to those who have obeyed in faith. The Passover as taught in Exodus was God's rich provision for the salvation of His people who were in slavery and bondage. The Passover pointed to Jesus Christ. Without His shed blood, there is no forgiveness. The people were saved when they believed all the the Lord had instructed. Do you know the forgiveness and cleansing that is in Jesus Christ?

Growth in Grace in the Path of Service »

Series: Exodus

When the Lord brings us to faith in Christ, we enter into a life of willing service. Salvation is just the beginning. God’s purpose is to form Christlikeness in us as we walk with Him. As Moses returns to Egypt with the task of delivering the Israelites from slavery, he must learn obedience, faithfulness, patience, and dependence upon the Lord alone in his confrontation with Pharaoh. It is God’s purpose to work all of these qualities in the lives of His people in the pursuit of holiness.

The Certainty of God’s Promise of Redemption »

Series: Exodus

The Lord will certainly deliver His people. Our salvation is guaranteed because of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, who lived for us and died in our place that we might be forgiven before God. Therefore we have a sure and certain hope of eternal life with Him. Through God’s command to Moses to call upon Pharaoh to release the enslaved Israelites, we learn that the tyranny of sin will ultimately be defeated in every child of God and that we will be set free. We see that nothing will stop the Lord’s power to save. The enemies of the Lord will know that it is He alone who delivers. Even our own unbelief will not thwart God's ultimate purpose.
